Got a new phone delivered today – the Sony Ericsson W850i. It’s going straight back tomorrow. After putting the battery in and leaving it on charge I went to then put my SIM card in to get started. Only the battery cover is completely stuck and refuses to move even after ramming screwdrivers in it. It turns out I am not alone with this problem so back it goes.

I have had 2 of these phones in the last fortnight with the same problem as you. I sent the first one back and the replacement has got stuck as well.
Sony now seem to manufacture everything using inferior materials and poor design. This is the result.
I’m going to send mine back again and get a different phone.

Didn’t think I was alone and I’m sure more people will turn up here. (just to help them find this… faulty battery cover, battery cover stuck, cannot remove battery cover …)
