08000 191774 or 0800 0191774 or 08000191774

Well, you are probably reading this as a result of searching to see who has called you from 08000191774. I’ll save you the hassle of calling them back by letting you know it was a marketing call from Excell Contact Centres who work on behalf of various ‘clients’. A recorded message tells you that “we do not need to speak with you at this time…” (why call me then?) …”as we will call you back at a future date” (great)

You can opt out of their calls by ringing 0845 130 7252 which is a bit of a con since that will cost you money. You could just keep ringing the 0800 0191774 number back and listening to the message – each time you call it then costs them money.

bloody annoying to answer a call to a dead line though isn’t it. Especially when you’re TPS registered, specifically to prevent that sort of thing.

I actually got to speak with someone. What is the verbal equivalent of illiterate?

He said they were ACE-European although it sounded like EAST European. He wanted to speak with my wife; I asked him what he was selling.

He repeated his demand to speak with my wife so I exercised the Red button option. Careless of them using the 0800 number unless of course it is more successful than the Number Withheld calls.

The geographical equivalent is 01294 225321

I called the Excell Contact Centres switchboard (01294 225300) and they were quick to remove me from their database saying it would take 24 hours until the calls stop.

Their official contact address should this not work and you want to complain further is:

    Excell Contact Centres Complaints Dept
    Unit B9
    4 Symington Place
    Riverside Business Park
    Irvine
    Ayrshire KA11 5DE
    Scotland

Thanks all. I’ve just read your comments and phoned them and asked them to remove me from their database.
I,too, am registered with the TPS, so it’s very annoying-especially as my Dad is 88 and struggles to get to the phone if I’m not there.

I have just phoned the 08000 No several dozen times, let them pay. I am Xdirectory and do not want unsolicited calls

Had 2 tonight, one in the middle of a lesson I was giving and one during our meal. Thanks to this website we’ve rung them and told them to remove us, even though we’re TPS registered and ex directory!!! We are now dialling and redialling their number – serves them right. We had some like this a few weeks ago on my mobile. I really object to this invasion of my privacy.

That’s the spirit – why not annoy them as much as they annoy everybody else.

Thanks for the above – just got back from Holiday and assumed it was the bank ranting about my overdraft! Very pleased to know it is nothing of any importance. . . thanks

Kept getting called by them so rang their switchboard – 01294 225300 – and gave the receptionist some ear-ache. Supposedly being removed from their list, we shall see.

Much more satisfactory being able to rant at someone than just leaving a recorded message.

Just called (01294 225300) as suggested by Mike, to see if I could be removed from this very annoying call list….seemed very helpful and apologetic….time will tell!!!
ps. I also gave them some verbal diarrhoea ..

Yes, if you call this 0800 numbers, it’ll cost money to that company. But there must be something else, not only theory that we know from places like this smart-numbers.net . They call for some purpose, fraud, they get somehow money on these calls. If they give their number, it means they are ready that people will call back.

Cheers for the post, just seen the missed call and listened to the empty voicemail…

  • 16 Gaz // Sep 10, 2008 at 4:42 pm

Everyone should get together for 30 mins at the same time and keep ringing the 08000 number to melt down the phone lines and cost them a fortune.

Absolutely agree with Gaz although the logistics would be a nightmare. As a Scot, perhaps we should just nuke Irvine? I doubt that anyone would miss the place LOL

I had a phone call from this number last week and the man on the phone who sounded Indian told me that he was calling from barclaycard. However I didn’t believe him (obviously) and he asked if I had received my pin number, even though I opened up the account months ago. I then rang barclaycard who said they didn’t ring me about my pin, however when I rang the number switchboard number the receptionist said they work on behalf of barclaycard.

It all seems a bit strange to me.
