[This will be updated to Thickbox 3.1 later today (April 1st)]
After using Lightbox for a while I decided I wanted something a little slimmer on the blog so set out to find a ThickBox plugin – at the time I couldn’t find one so quickly butchered some files together and made one. There are probably countless others out there now, but if you want your Wordpress blog to use the excellent ThickBox script by Cody Lindley, then you can download it below.
It is super simple to install and comes with a readme.txt file in there to explain what to do if your plugin path is not standard.
Download ThickBox plugin 1.1 for Wordpress 2.x here
The demo has been temporarily removed to make way for the Litebox Plugin for Wordpress – they don’t both want to work together just yet!

Thank you very much for this!
I had some issues with Lightbox and other jQuery code I was using. Figured that if I could get something similar to Lighbox using the jQuery library, it would help. My problems are gone now. Thanks again!

Why is this plugin for Wordpress 1.1? Isn’t that version very outdated? Just wondering.
8 Gavin // Sep 12, 2007 at 10:57 pm
@Lee – the plugin version is 1.1 but it is for Wordpress 2.x and above.

I installed the plugin for my guestbook on http://www.jaxcal.org. It had issues with one of my plugins, Ajax logon. It quit working in Firfox.
I uninstalled the Ajax Logon which I loved but still get this error in IE6
’style’ is null or not an object
Do you know of anyways to not get this error. When I uninstall thickbox the error goes away. I’d love to keep thickbox but don’t know how professional the error looks.
any suggestions?
thanks.
Byron

Thanks for making this plugin. I just installed it on my blog but it seems that it strips off paragraph spaces. Do you know how to overcome that? thx a lot in advance.

I’m having some trouble with Thickbox. After activating it, if you pressed “,” or “.” it’ll launch the thickbox again.
I’m assuming this is because this plugin enabled keystroke recognition?
Does anyone else have this problem? Or do you have a fix for this Gavin?

I’ve been playing with Thickbox and am figuring how to integrate it into my Wordpress site; this could potentially be very cool, but Thickbox is now up to version 3.1…I’m guessing the plugin won’t support the updated version (since you’re shipping an earlier version in your distribution).
Would you ever plan to update this plugin?
Thanks for all your work on this so far!
